Episode 3 of Skibidi Dad takes us deep into the heart of imagination, AI, and tunnel etiquette — yep, you read that right. This week we’re asking big questions like: Should Hogwarts be real? Can AI cure every disease? And why didn’t anyone toot back in Mount Victoria Tunnel?
We kicked things off with a Skibidi Moment straight out of Wellington, where Dana felt personally offended that no one joined in the traditional tunnel honking. Apparently, it’s a thing — a tribute, a ritual, a social contract. And when it’s broken? It feels weirdly sad.
In World Views, we jumped into something a little more mind-bending: artificial intelligence and its potential to end disease. We explored a 60 Minutes interview with DeepMind’s Demis Hassabis, who thinks AGI could arrive by 2030 and revolutionise medicine. Dana? She’s intrigued but not impressed. Her take: AI is just AI, and she’s still more scared of a glowing light switch than an artificial brain.
Then came the Big Question — and it was a magical one: Should Hogwarts be real? What followed was a seriously philosophical chat about what counts as “real,” whether imagination makes something real enough, and if the world would actually be better with a real-life wizarding school. Dana’s conclusion? Hogwarts should be real — but only the castle, not the characters. Because imagine people chasing actual Harry Potter for selfies. Chaos.
We also welcomed back Hot Seat, where little brother Aran got grilled with 10 ridiculous questions, from what he’d name his pet dragon to what he’d do with a magic wand (spoiler: it involves quadzillions of dollars). His logic was wild, his Australian accent was questionable, and his final answer was… socks? Classic Aran.
And yes, we wrapped up with another round of Brother Jokes — including why grizzlies wear no socks (they have bear feet, obviously) and what orange vegetable sounds like a parrot. It was peak sibling humour.
By the end of the episode, Dana offered her final thought:
“AI will never cure all disease. Maybe one or two… or a thousand. That’s it.”
So there you have it — one tunnel, one castle, one imaginary disease-fighting robot brain, and a whole lot of family energy. Thanks for joining us as we try to figure it all out, one Skibidi Moment at a time.
